Incapital Sponsors Gallaudet University Baseball Golf Classic

Incapital, a leading underwriter and distributor of fixed income and other financial products, today announced that it will be the title sponsor of the Annual Gallaudet University Baseball Golf Classic for the third consecutive year.

The funds raised at the Golf Classic will support the Gallaudet University baseball team, led by Coach Curtis Pride, one of a small handful of deaf players in Major League Baseball history.

“We are delighted to support such an inspirational group of athletes and serve as a catalyst for Gallaudet University’s efforts,” said John Radtke, CEO of Incapital. “The DC area is home to a large portion of Incapital’s Agency business and we hope our involvement will help connect the local community with Coach Pride and the team.”

According to the university, the Golf Classic raised $22,500 last year to support the Bison baseball program. Proceeds raised this year will be put towards the team’s travel expenses, field renovations and uniforms, among other necessary items for the baseball season.

The Washington D.C.-based university is the only publically funded fully accredited four-year college for hard of hearing and deaf students as well as those students who are fluent in sign language.

“Our team is incredibly grateful for the support we have received surrounding the event from the community and local business over the past two years,” said Coach Pride. “Incapital, in particular, has played an integral role as title sponsor over the past three years and their involvement has allowed us to take our fundraising efforts to a new level.”

The Golf Classic is slated for Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 in Olney, MD at the Norbeck Country Club. The event is open to everyone and more information is available at http://www.gallaudetbaseballgolfclassic.com/schedule.html. The event will also include a silent auction, held after the tournament concludes.
