Nuveen Investments Expands Client Sales and Support Team for Unit Trusts

  • Three New Hires Further Support Nuveen's Joint Distribution Effort with Incapital
  • Additions Highlight Strength and Interest in Current Unit Trust Offerings

CHICAGO, October 7, 2015 – Nuveen Investments, a leading global provider of investment services to institutions as well as individual investors, is pleased to announce three new additions to its unit trust client sales and support platform. This latest action is a reflection of the strength of and market interest in the current unit trust products offered by and jointly distributed with Incapital, a leading underwriter and distributor of securities to financial institutions and investment advisors. Further, it demonstrates Nuveen Investments’ commitment to growing and supporting the unit trusts where Nuveen’s affiliates serve as portfolio consultants. Joining Nuveen Investments and reporting to Melissa Roe, Managing Director and National Head of Unit Trust Sales are Sean Degnan, Gabriela Harmon, and Margaret Leung. 

Sean Degnan joined Nuveen Investments on June 8th, and serves as East Coast Unit Trust Specialist. Degnan comes to Nuveen from F-Squared Capital, where he served as Senior Vice President and Regional Director, responsible for new sales, new producers, and asset retention for F-Squared’s SMA lineup in the Wirehouse channel covering a territory spanning Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. Prior to F-Squared Capital, Degnan worked at First Trust Portfolios as Vice President and Territory Manager, responsible for new sales, new producers, and asset retention for First Trust Portfolios’ ETF, SMA and Unit Trust lineups across all channels covering Upstate/Western NY as well as the Mid-Atlantic. Degnan received his B.A. in Government from Georgetown University. 

Gabriela Harmon joined Nuveen Investments on August 3rd, and serves as West Coast Unit Trust Specialist. Harmon comes to Nuveen from First Trust Portfolios, where she served as Vice President and Wholesaler, responsible for unit trust sales across multiple asset classes for all channels in southern California. Fluent in Spanish and conversant in French and Italian, Harmon studied in Dijon, France; Cambridge, England; and Florence, Italy and holds Languages Degree from Colegio Vista Hermosa in Mexico City, Mexico. 

Margaret Leung joined Nuveen Investments on June 15th, and serves as Midwest Unit Trust Specialist. Based in Chicago, Leung comes to Nuveen from Invesco, where she served as a Business Development Specialist, charged with driving their unit investment trust business through product and subject matter expertise and partnering with distribution on strategic initiatives across various channels. Leung holds a B.A. in Psychology & Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine.
